About

A framework for decentralization in which the authorship of the artwork becomes questioned. A quasi theoretical/practical happening that proposes alternative clocking systems diffusing traditional ‘metric’ conceptions on space and time towards metaphoric and synchronistic connectivities, a transpersonal system that goes beyond the individual. This aims to confront the discourse on the Nature of being, the role of Art within an overwhelming technocratization and its potential displacement into a re-invented future. Exposing the heterogeneity of the Virtual, wherein an acceptance of technology as part of our Nature brings possibilities to implement these tools to challenge new perspectives on materialism, as technocratic portals that shift perceptions on spatiotemporality, and to interconnect the terrestrial sphere, through non-causal agencies, synchronicities, to the merely unknown qualities of the universe. Therefore the intra-active quality of the installation invites participation from visitors to co-create the artwork with brought objects and instruments, as a connective process-based practice.

Text

The final framework of the series that derived from a sequence of previous research and observations of their basic principles, as an outcome the development of this experimental installation. The installation utilises a fully equipped 4DSOUND system, a structure of symmetrical placed speakers for spherical sound projection. Around the centre there are 8 omnidirectional microphones placed in a symmetrical square, the computational system captures sound traces with a recursive attitude, not only taking but giving back simultaneously. This is a methodology that conveys the intelligence of the surrounding. The system takes a trace, processes it through algorithmic processes and projects it back spatially at randomised moments, the machine as curator of a cluster of happened events. These events, projected back as traces in a different warp of time, moving through the infinite amount of space, they accelerate and decelerate, destabilising the overall metricity in altered states of memory.

The work revolves around a self-deconstructed mythology, transcribed and to be found on this interactive webpage: Link
